Tonight on MiWeek, host Christy McDonald and weekly contributors Nolan Finley and Stephen Henderson take a look at the stories making news across the state:
- Michigan GOP / Republican Presidential Candidates – We turn to MiWeek contributor Nolan Finley for a recap of the Republican presidential candidates’ visit to Mackinac Island last week. Plus, there’s a lot of other Michigan political stories for the team to discuss, including possible candidates for the 2018 Governor’s race and former lawmakers’ Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat’s plans to run again for their old seats.
- Pope in the U.S. – Pope Francis makes his first visit to the U.S. and makes plans to be the first Pope to address Congress. The MiWeek team examines the impact this Pope is having around the world and whether he will have an influence on U.S. policy.
- Clark Park’s Impact – MiWeek looks at the longtime impact of Clark Park on the City of Detroit, as seen in a video produced by student Evan Gulock and aired on PBS NewsHour.
