Mike Tenbusch of United Way for Southeastern Michigan

Posted by MiAmerican Graduate Editor on

United Way for Southeastern Michigan works in the area to help citizens obtain their basic needs to build a good quality of life for everyone.  In the realm of education they have a particular focus on early childhood education and turning around high schools.

United Way’s Vice President of Educational Preparedness, Mike Tenbusch speaks to the importance of the citizens getting involved to help uplift their community. One of United Way's approaches to keeping students on track to graduation is the High School Turnaround initiative. This program selects schools to be visited by turnaround specialists who will implement unique reforms to keep students engaged. Like many of United Way’s initiatives community support is vital to ensure success.
