We kick off Black History Month with a woman who made history as the first African-American woman to win the Miss U.S.A. title. Detroiter Carole Gist joins us to talk about that groundbreaking moment 25 years ago.

Detroit-area McDonald’s owners are celebrating Black History Month with an art contest for local students. The annual competition invites teens to submit original works of art that capture a significant person or moment in black history. George N'Namdi, Owner of N'Namdi Center for Contemporary Art; Mindy Mitchell, an art teacher at Cass Tech HS; and Savarior Service, a McDonald's owner join us.
