Detroit Head Start Learning Network
Detroit agencies are stepping up efforts to give low-income families a head start in Michigan. Katie Brisson of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and Wendy Jackson of the Kresge Foundation join us to discuss their collaborative, which helps fund quality Head Start programs for Detroit children and families.
Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program
The Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program just moved into a new building to accommodate the hundreds of students on its waiting list. The program combines academics, athletics, and community service.
