On the next American Black Journal: June 19th is World Sickle Cell Day, a time to educate and raise awareness about the genetic disorder that primarily affects African Americans and Hispanics.  We'll talk with three women on the front lines of the battle to help those with the disease lead longer, quality lives: Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, Pediatrician Dr. Wanda Whitten-Shurney, and Youth Ambassador Anastasia Worthy.  Plus, the Mayor of Pontiac joins us to talk about progress in the city -- post-emergency manager.  And, the Detroit Journalism Cooperative launches another chapter in its yearlong project -- this time focusing on Poverty: A Pathway to Prison.
