WTVS Detroit Public Television- Receives 21 Emmy Awards Nominations

 

DETROIT (June 5, 2014)- WTVS Detroit Public Television (DPTV) has been nominated for 21 Emmy awards across several categories, demonstrating its leadership and the skilled talent of its staff and producers in the areas of health, arts and entertainment, community service, and more. The awards will be presented on June 14, 2014 at the MotorCity Casino Soundboard Theater in Detroit.

"The Emmy nominations are such a great indication of where we are going at DPTV through partnerships, new relationships with local producers and a strong internal staff," said Rich Homberg, President & CEO of Detroit Public Television. "Every one of these projects is a unique effort to create important and engaging programs for Southeast Michigan." 

The nominated shows took viewers on a stroll through Detroit’s past, an insight into the beauty of its art and richness of its culinary offerings, as well as informative pieces on health and aging. The nominations include:

The EMMY® award is presented for outstanding achievement in television by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). Michigan is one of the 20 chapters awarding regional Emmy® statuettes. Entries were aired during the 2013 calendar.
