Masco’s Michelle D. Greene Named to Detroit Public TV’s Board of Directors

DETROIT (Feb. 21, 2019) – Detroit Public Television’s Board of Trustees elected Michelle D. Greene, Vice President of Information Technology for Masco Corporation, as the latest member of the board.

In her role with the Livonia-based Masco, she is responsible for aligning the IT strategies and initiatives to support its corporate functions and overall business objectives. In addition to providing leadership for the Corporate IT organization, she directs the planning and implementation of corporate IT solutions.  She also oversees and develops Masco’s enterprise-wide IT shared services and information security policies and guidelines.

“It is a privilege to welcome Michelle to our board,” said Rich Homberg, President and CEO of Detroit Public TV (DPTV). “With her extensive background in information technology and her keen management skills, she will provide leadership to our organization as it adapts emerging media platforms and business models to advance our mission – airing the best in PBS programming, engaging the local community in our work, and telling the unfolding story of Detroit, which we believe is the most important city in America.”

Prior to joining Masco, Greene was the Vice President, IT Business Partner – Global Functions, at Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI), providing technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of JCI Enterprise Council technology programs.

She has also been extremely active in the nonprofit community. Greene is a past president and current board members of Calbr, a global leadership network that offers career and professional development, community service opportunities and points of connectivity for business professionals. She also serves on the board of PEARLS for TEEN GIRLS, a unique leadership development program serving middle school through high school and beyond in Milwaukee, WI. 

Greene is a member of Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF), the only national organization dedicated exclusively to fostering upper-level African-American executive talent among IT professionals.

Greene earned a bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University and a master’s degree from Florida State University with a focus on Information Sciences. She is a resident of Detroit.
