Curious George, Super Why & More Return to DPTV’s Kids Club Live

June 24 & 25 at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Royal Oak Farmers Market

 

DETROIT (June 11, 2014) – Detroit Public Television (DPTV) will kick off the summer by bringing back some of PBS’s favorite characters, such Curious George, SuperWHY, Clifford and others during Kids Club Live, June 24 and 25 at the Royal Oak Farmers Market, 316 E 11 Mile Rd in downtown Royal Oak.

Kids and their parents are invited for a fun time featuring a sing-along with the world’s most beloved purple dinosaur, Barney™, visits with beloved characters such as the Cat in the Hat, Super Why, Curious George and others, arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle courses, exciting activities, the WRCJ Musical Instrument “Petting Zoo” with child-sized instruments such as the cello and violin, Be on TV, Raising Readers Read-Aloud area, and much more. New this year are activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) with “Magic of STEM’; “Ms. Tamela the Facepainter”; “DNA Jewelry”; and the “7 Bean Magic Soup Gardens.”

Since its inception in 2003, Kids Club Live has been drawing 500-plus people per show. It is an inexpensive way for families to spend time together in a fun and wholesome atmosphere. Tickets to Kids Club Live are $10 per person (children 12 months and under are FREE).
